Brian Gallant Bio
Born in Shediac Bridge, Brian is the son of Gallants and Scholtens. By the age of ten, his family had moved from Shediac Bridge to Beresford, then onto Nigadoo, Bouctouche and Moncton, before finally returning to Shediac Bridge.Brian’s parents worked hard to support their family through jobs in grocery stores, convenience stores, and fast food restaurants.
When he was in his late teens and early twenties, Brian started two small businesses to finance his education. He obtained degrees in business administration and law from the Université de Moncton. He also earned a master’s degree in law from McGill before starting a career in corporate and commercial law.
Following years of political and community involvement, Brian entered the race to become leader of the Liberal Party of New Brunswick. In October, 2012, he won. The following spring he won a bi-election to also become the MLA for Kent.
Brian is focused on building a stronger New Brunswick. If elected he vows to invest in education, skills training and literacy. By embracing innovation and a new political culture, he argues that we can turn the page towards a new era of prosperity in New Brunswick.
